Hello, Traditional!
Get to know about what I can do with traditional art and crafts, and the art forms I am capable of doing.
Acrylic Painting
Last year, I was chosen spontaneously as the student to compete in the 2023 Division Festival of Talents PINTAHUSAY. Despite the lack of knowledge, I placed fifth place among the nine schools that participated and gained the most attention among judges. I chose a different kind of art style called "Impressionism", one similar to Van Gogh. This competition became the start of my painting journey.
Sketching or Drawing
Ever since I was young, sketching or drawing has been with me. My whole life I enjoyed drawing and was usually chosen for poster making contests in school and outside of school competitions. I won several poster making contests here in A1. But with the touch of a pencil, I preferred this art form than anything else as I had the sense of freedom with just a pencil or a pen.
Oil Pastel Coloring
Since I was exposed to poster making contests, oil pastels were a must. I wasn't that fond of oil pastels since I found them messy and way too difficult to use compared to acrylic paint, but I enjoyed the challenge. But due to lack of confidence in this art form, I didn't document my progress.
Manga/Comic Artist
With my huge love for animated series/animes, I also loved reading mangas or comics. I adapted their art styles and techniques and practiced making my own comics. I did this for fun and never published anything also due to the lack of confidence.
Watercolor and Gouache
I also know how to use watercolor and gouache as they're somehow similar. I enjoyed how easy they blended, and how they're much easier to clean.
Other Art Forms
Charcoal Art I was gifted charcoal pencils by my sisters back then and I learned how to make art with the use of these pencils. But I did not enjoy it as much as traditional sketching.
Multimedia Art I learned how to make multimedia art and started using this medium for a lot of my performance tasks.
Animation I used to animate by overlaying videos and drawing a specific character on top of the said video. It was fun and very time consuming. I did this during the pandemic where the rise of animators began.
Crafts
Crocheting I tried learning how to crochet and it did start of successfully. But I lacked time to continue making my crochet plans because of my hectic school schedule. Although I will definitely try again when I gain more time!
Clay Art I discovered clay art and have always wanted to try sculpting. I made small figurines, sculptures, and trays for my accessories. Clay art was definitely one of my favorites.
